On 8 July 2015 Saeima (the Parliament of Latvia) passed a decision on dismissal of Mr Ainars Dimants from the position of the member of the National Mass Media Board (NEPLP). Having reviewed the application of Ainars Dimants, on 23 December 2015 the Administrative District Court passed a judgment where it acknowledged the decision of Saeima to be unlawful and revoked it. The court concurrently satisfied the request of the applicant and established that the judgment shall be enforced immediately after its adoption, thus reinstating Ainars Dimants to the position at NEPLP. On 24 November 2015 the Supreme Court of Lithuania has satisfied the request of FORT to renew the administrative case due to the material breaches of the substantive and procedural law made by inferior courts.
