Upon the complaint prepared by FORT the European Commission requests explanation from Latvia regarding state aid to natural gas processing plants
The European Commission (EC), having evaluated the complaint prepared by FORT on behalf of the Latvian Renewable Energy Federation (LREF), has decided to carry out in-depth verification of the state aid provided by Latvia to state-owned major natural gas combined heat and power plants (CHP). It was pointed out in the complaint submitted that in lobbying interests of the state-owned natural gas processing plants the rules for granting the state aid were continuously ignored resulting in adverse impact on the energy sector in general.
