On the 11th of July Sandis Bertaitis, Partner of FORT, took the part in the media breakfast served by the Ministry of Justice for the purpose to present to reporters a new alternative method of dispute resolution – mediation – along with benefits of its application, versatility in its application, good practice and further development of it in Latvia.

Courts have traditionally been the venue of last resort for legal and not so legal disputes. However, courts are ill suited for efficiency in resolving commercial disputes. In Estonia, there is still much mistrust in alternative methods of dispute resolution, even or actually especially within the legal profession.
